One of the best decisions we made
“We really feel that booking Mike Ross to photograph our wedding was one of the best choices we made in the wedding planning process. Every single time I talked to or emailed with Mike this was reinforced. Not only is he an absolutely amazing photographer with an eye for detail and emotion that is uncanny, but also he is just such a cool guy to deal with. Everyone told me “Make sure you like your photographer as a person because s/he will be following you around all day” and when I met Mike the first time I knew that he was someone I could definitely have fun with all day.
About working with Mike: I’ve been a bridesmaid in several weddings and in more than one I’ve been less than enamored with the photographer by the end of the day. Some can be pushy, irritating, “in your face,” or just too egocentric – thinking the day exists simply to give them something to photograph. With Mike I felt the precise opposite of all of this! He was so incredibly supportive of when I’d had enough picture taking and of our mood throughout the day. I wasn’t one of those “princess for a day” type brides – I was more into being laid back and having fun. Mike definitely read that and treated me and the day accordingly. He was present when we needed him but managed to be everywhere at once yet in nobody’s way. Also, very importantly, he was quick with getting my pictures online and then getting the albums to me. I have heard horror stories about people not getting their pictures for months and this is NOT a concern with Mike.
About Mike’s Images: Wow. I mean seriously – WOW. We aren’t one of those supermodel couples who are likely to grace the cover of Modern Bride. What we are, though, is funny and crazy-in-love. Somehow Mike managed to make us look incredible in the pictures by really capturing what makes us love each other – our senses of humor, goofiness, and how smitten we are with each other. I was so worried that we would look back on our pictures and only see our physical selves, but I really believe in thirty years when we bust out the albums what we’ll see are those characteristics in ourselves, our families, and our friends – not just the physical outside of us. Somehow Mike managed to take pictures of “US” – really what makes us, us. Not just our faces and our bodies. This goes for everyone too – so many “classic” pictures of our friends are in there. We just cannot get over it. I’ve had so much fun working with Mike, am wildly impressed by his work, and very, very heartily recommend him to anyone who is looking to have their day captured in a way that will always bring back memories of the moments that made their wedding so special.”

“We just got our proof albums and DVD’s, and we cannot believe how beautiful they are. They exceeded our expectations by leaps and bounds! The quality is fantastic. My husband and I planned our wedding from Virginia, so we didn’t have the luxury of meeting with photographers face to face. Instead, we had to really pore over photographer’s portfolios on websites. When we saw Mike’s work, we knew immediately he would be able convey exactly what we wanted in our wedding photos. We both hated the wooden, posed photos, we had seen in some of our friend’s albums.
